Website Construction (CMS-Based)

Project details

What we need
  • Development of a new website using a Content Management System (CMS)
  • Training to ensure Organization's staff members can update content and manage the site post-launch
  • Note: This project is for a website built with a Content Management System (CMS), such as Wordpress, Squarespace, Joomla, Drupal, or Weebly . A CMS-based website can be maintained and updated easily (no coding required!)
What we have in place
  • We currently have a website domain name, platform, and visual content, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a small team of two working on the initial sketches of our website, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $16,822 , allowing us to invest in technology for 100 K-12 youth a part of our academic support programs.

A website is the entry point for potential supporters, volunteers, and donors to get to know crucial information about an organization. Without this main platform, an organization cannot push vital content about the social issues that lead the work that they do. In addition, a website allows for potential clients to learn about the services an organization offers and how that organization can be of service to them. This project will help our organization increase our visibility as a vital resource in the Upper West Side and help us promote the work we are doing for youth and families.

Our mission

The DOME Project and Strycker's Bay Neighborhood Council have been on the front line of the Upper West Side for over five decades.

Working in partnership through The West Side Commons, we provide vulnerable youth and families of the Upper West Side a safe space to come together as an extended family.

At The Commons, individuals learn and share resources and opportunities that help them face and overcome problems created by unequal access to quality education and economic opportunities.

What we do

The West Side Commons provides services to youth and families on the Upper West Side, which include:

*Social Services (Housing Eviction Prevention)
*K-5 After School (LACASA After School Program)
*6-8 Middle School After School (Each One Teach One After School Program)
*Alternative to Detention Services (Bridge to Success Program)
*High School Leadership Program
*Math Literacy Support
*Evening Tutoring
*Weekly Community Breakfast

Combined, these services help in closing the opportunity gap that persists for youth and families in the Upper West Side.
