Individual Donor Letter
Individual Donor Letter
Project details
What we need
- A concise, well-articulated letter (not exceeding two pages) to request funds from individual donors
What we have in place
- We currently are in the process of developing a series of micro-documentaries that showcase the work we do and the people we help. Our first video is almost complete and we are in various stages of production with the other ones. We are in the process of updating our website and adding in new donation software capabilities. We have brochures and other marketing materials which we would like to update as well but that is currently what we have.
How this will help
This project will save us $2,140 , allowing us to redirect our funds towards those clients that need it most. It allows us to be able to waive fees for those clients that just can't afford legal services.
We are an immigration and citizenship program. We provide low-cost legal services such as one-on-one legal consultations, application assistance for citizenship, green cards, work visas, U-visas, DACA, etc. and we provide the community with education about their constitutional rights, emergency preparedness and ways to integrate into the community including financial literacy, citizenship classes, etc. We absolutely need to increase our ability to apply our funds flexibly so we can address ongoing shifts in immigration policy. We feel the way to do this is to increase our individual donor base and we have never done a fundraising campaign before.
Project plan
Our mission
Based on CET's philosophy of self-determination, the Immigration and Citizenship Program's (ICP) mission is to provide high quality immigration and citizenship services and promote and strengthen civic involvement among the immigrant population. ICP offers support services, application assistance, legal consultations and representation, primarily in Santa Clara County. Our staff is accredited by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and our volunteers are dedicated to serving their community.
What we do
We strive to assist and inspire immigrants. Our agency educates and empowers our clients to navigate the legal immigration and naturalization process, as well as promotes understanding, trust, respect, and dignity by encouraging the welcoming community to volunteer and be part of immigrants’ successful integration. CET-ICP offers high quality, free and low-cost services provided by DOJ accredited representatives and staff attorneys. We look to engage newly naturalized citizens to embrace civic involvement, work together, learn about each other’s cultures and step up as leaders for social change.
