Our mission
Founded by Rutgers University award winning adjunct professor and veteran entrepreneur Ernest Ruffin, Jr, YES's mission is to teach youth grades 6-12 in urban areas nationwide and the Virgin Islands business and economic development. YES Business Plan Challenge students are taught to work in teams, take their ideas and create business plans. They then compete for cash and prizes. Hundreds of kids have participated in the YES Business Plan Challenges since 2014. We've help a few students grow their current businesses and assisted others in putting plans together for new ventures teaming them with business mentors in their cities.
Testimonials
Excellent work by Laura. She’s punctual, communicates often and passionate about her work. I would highly recommend Laura for projects.
It was great having an opportunity to work with an organization doing things I believe in. Ernest was easy to work with and truly passionate about what he is doing. This is an organization that can have real, significant beneficial outcomes for the kids that participate, and I think it deserves all the energy volunteers can put behind it!
