Strategic Partnerships Research
Strategic Partnerships Research
Project details
What we need
- A list of potential corporations or foundations to target for a specific partnership or grant opportunity
What we have in place
- We are currently supported by a number of foundations, and have a list of those we would like to reach out to, but we would like to significantly expand that list. We have two dedicated development staff members.
How this will help
This project will save us $4,828 , allowing us to invest that money into protecting and transforming New York Harbor.
As the Waterfront Alliance enters its second decade, we are unrolling a new five-year strategic plan that puts climate resilience and adaptation for New York Harbor at the forefront of our work. With this re-prioritization, we need to identify new institutional funders to support this important work, specifically foundations with a focus on combatting climate change and creating resilient communities. At the core of our new work, we'll be launching a multi-year Campaign for Regional Resilience and are looking to build strategic partnerships to ensure the campaign's success, including partners that can provide six-figure and multi-year gifts.

Our mission
The Waterfront Alliance inspires and effects resilient, revitalized, and accessible coastlines for all communities.
What we do
Whether we live, work, or play where the water meets the land, we have the shared responsibility to ensure our waterfront is accessible for boating and recreation, ecologically healthy, resilient to climate change, and a source of good-paying jobs. We are at the forefront of building consensus and influencing waterfront policy and planning in New York and New Jersey through providing public testimony and producing white papers. Our programs include serving as an early advocate for five-borough ferry service, building neighborhood docks for educational and recreational use, and helping communities create better waterfront design using our Waterfront Edge Design Guidelines.Through our annual Waterfront Conference, City of Water Day, and Harbor Camp, we bring together and open the eyes of today's and tomorrow's generations of waterfront stewards.
