Website Construction (CMS-Based)
Website Construction (CMS-Based)
Project details
What we need
- Development of a new website using a Content Management System (CMS)
- Training to ensure Organization's staff members can update content and manage the site post-launch
- Note: This project is for a website built with a Content Management System (CMS), such as Wordpress, Squarespace, Joomla, Drupal, or Weebly . A CMS-based website can be maintained and updated easily (no coding required!)
Additional details
Friends of Family Farmers formed the Oregon Pasture Network (OPN) to help farmers and ranchers meet the demand for high quality, humanely raised meats, and deepen their knowledge of the art and science of raising animals on pasture. A major element of the OPN is Oregon's first ever Pasture Raised Product Guide, however, it's very limited in its current form (www oregonpasturenetwork org). We want to create a more sophisticated, independent website so that the Product Guide can be significantly more searchable and user-friendly on the front end, and producers can maintain their own information on the back end.
What we have in place
- The first volunteer we worked with set up the initial site and www.oregonpasturenetwork.org is now live. However, the volunteer is unable to continue on the project due to unforeseen circumstances and we need someone to take over the project as soon as possible. A lot of the framework has been built already, but we need someone to fine tune the functionality, finish adding desired features, and preferably improve on the overall design.
How this will help
This project will save us $12,802 , allowing us to greatly improve the support we provide pasture-based producers and allow us to focus our resources on advertising the new site, hosting consumer education events, and provide workshops for OPN members.
A new Guide searchable by zip code and product type will be much more useful and relevant to eaters. Also, producers being able to enter and keep their own information updated will save our organization hours (and hours!) of staff time, freeing them up to promote the new site. With added functionality the Guide will be far more attractive to consumers looking to purchase pasture-raised proteins. We will then be able to connect more consumers directly with OPN members, thereby growing the overall support we provide to pasture-based producers.

What a great organization! Very friendly staff and a wonderful mission that does not intend to conflict with or pressure vegans.
