Project details

What we need
  • An assessment of Organization's IT infrastructure including costs, speed, reliability and security
  • Advice on various IT services and the cost-benefit associated with each option
  • Potentially more efficient and secure services
  • Note: This does not include tech systems set up or implementation
Additional details

We strongly believe that in order to grow and scale up our services/program, we need a secure database to track our service delivery and another database for our donor engagement/fundraising. We currently use Google docs/sheets/pivot tables (set up by former board member-no longer involved). We need an assessment of what we have, what we need/want to capture and recommendations on what tools make sense.

What we have in place
  • We currently have Monthly reports with service delivery data, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have access to our tools so you can understand our limitations, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $16,966 , allowing us to purchase a database that can help us grow and serve more families in need.

In order to scale our services to serve more families in need, we need a database that can track the raw data as well as outcomes. The amount of detail currently held in a variety of google sheets/docs is unwieldy and makes increasing our client base very challenging.

Our mission

Sitters Without Borders (SWOB) is committed to providing safe and affordable childcare to low-income families who are eager to pursue an education, with the help of energetic and altruistic volunteer babysitters. We aim to help parents gain an education and ultimately, independence.

What we do

Sitters Without Borders matches dedicated and highly experienced volunteer babysitters with families in need. Each family that applies and is accepted into o our program, can benefit from a free 4h babysitting session every week. If a family requires additional babysitting, each 4h session costs only $20.
Families and sitters are matched based on experience, availability, need and preference. Usually each family has a regular sitter throughout the semester with substitutes sitters volunteering now and then.
In order to ensure high quality and safety, both sitters and families go through thorough interviews, reference checks as well as CORI background checks before being accepted into the program. After each sessions both parties are also required to submit a feedback form. Further, we have regular feedback sessions with the family as well as group discussion meetings with the sitters.

Within its first year of existence, SWOB has helped more than 40 families, with currently close to 100 families on a wait list! In order to help even more mothers in need and be able to grow and develop, we need every support we can get!
