Bay Cove is looking to create a brochure describing volunteer opportunities at our organization, with an emphasis on the opportunities at our Emergency Shelter. This brochure will be used as a recruitment and informational tool for potential volunteers.

What we have in place
  • We have a growing base of volunteers at our Shelter, and a structured meal preparation and service event that we would like to start advertising more widely. We have a dedicated Development staff for this program.
How this will help
This project will save us $4,212 , allowing us to buy produce and lean meats for the shelter food program.

At the Shelter, we have a very small food budget, as our funding sources assume that we can make up the "difference" with donated food. However, this donated food is uneven in quality and nutrition. Our new volunteer cooking program features healthy food bought for and prepared by volunteers, helping us to feed a more nutritious diet to the guests. Good nutrition is critical to surviving the rigors of living on the streets.
