Project details

What we need
  • Analysis of the Organization’s current needs, long-term goals, programs, competitive standing and resources
  • Recommendations for an appropriate course of action to reach the desired objectives, including allocation of resources and how to measure success
  • Plan outlining the resources and steps required to reach short- and long-term goals
Additional details

We are looking for someone to help us implement our strategic plan. We have already done the strategic planning in terms of outlining our mission, vision, values, goals, core strategies -- but we need support on a revenue generation plan to implement this strategy sustainably. Would love your help!

What we have in place
  • We currently have a strategic plan!, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a strong desire to develop fundraising skills, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $12,550 , allowing us to fund a semester of a grad student's time on a research project on displacement, developing their skills and providing new insights for community groups dedicated to more equitable cities.

We are currently funded by research projects, and have no core funding. This means that we cannot nimbly respond to needs as they arise -- for example, if a policy is being proposed that could significantly impact displacement pressures and our community partners are calling for us to do some analysis of it, it is hard for us to quickly redirect resources.

Our mission

The Urban Displacement Project is a research and action initiative of UC Berkeley in collaboration with researchers at UCLA and Portland State University. The project aims to understand the nature of gentrification and displacement in the Bay Area, Southern California and Portland. It focuses on creating tools to help communities identify the pressures surrounding them and take more effective action.
