What We Need
  • A photographer who will work with the Organization over 1-2 days to capture an important event or shoot a series of photographs to tell the Organization's story
  • A set of professionally edited, high-resolution images delivered in JPEG or TIFF format suitable for web or print use
  • Note: The photographer needs to be available in the same geographical location as the Organization or be willing to travel at own expense
Additional Details

Photography of our open public concert, "We Shall Overcome," on Martin Luther King Day, January 21.

The children in our orchestra will arrive at Mayo Hall, The College of New Jersey, at 3:30, rehearse briefly, have pizza together in the Green Room, and then perform -- and lead the audience in singing -- at 5:30. It will be a beautiful celebration of unity, and the leadership and agency that Trenton children are developing as members of an orchestra.

What We Have In Place
  • We currently have 100 amazing Trenton children playing string instruments, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have photo releases, staff and volunteers for the concert day, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How This Will Help

We tell our organization's story every day: Trenton children spend their after-school time working on their musical skills, collaborating with their peers, showing leadership with younger children. We do more than limit their exposure to negative influences; we use the orchestra as an example of positive society, and give them an active role in building that society. Photographs help us to tell that story, and garner the support we need, better than any words could.

About The Org

Our Mission

We bring children together in teams of music learners and makers, to build their minds, imagination and community. We seek to uphold and strengthen the promising elements already present in their lives: the network of caring parents and teachers, and the desire to develop skills that make them an asset to their school communities. To this we add proven curricula, access to musical instruments, the opportunity for the children to travel outside of their local environment, and instruction at no cost to children and families, provided by professional teaching artists.
