Nimbus Dance is at a transformational moment for our organization. Jersey City's largest arts non-profit, Nimbus has a 14 year history of merging high caliber professional dance with community programming. In Spring 2020, Nimbus moves into a new 15,000 sq ft arts center, including a major partnership with Saint Peter's University.
As our most recent Strategic Plan completes in 2020, we seek to create a new 5 year plan that incorporates the new facility, increased scale, and new possibilities
What we have in place
- We currently have motivated board, a major milestone to plan for, many dreams!, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a large network of constituents, energized staff and talent!, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $12,550 , allowing us to dedicate our modest revenue towards facility fit-out and interior construction costs, as well as ongoing operations of our organization and programs.
The new Nimbus Arts Center will change the future of our organization and the landscape of the arts Jersey City, NJ. It will also challenge us in new ways to manage a larger space, more programs, large partnerships (with St. Peter's University, Hudson County Schools of Technology), Pro Arts Jersey City (visual arts non-profit), and generally a larger footprint. We hope to create a 3-5 year plan which allows to smoothly and productively transition into this enhanced scale of operations.

Our mission
Nimbus Dance Works is committed to bringing dance into a dynamic relationship with the communities we serve, always acting in accord with our guiding principles of integrity, excellence, and community. We create and present programs of top-level artistry that inspire audience members while building close ties between individuals and communities. Nimbus creates programs that serve traditional dance audiences and create new ones in its home of Jersey City while gaining regional and national prominence.
