What we need
  • Expert third party advice on process or managerial changes, geographic or programmatic expansion, potential pivots, or general strategic planning
  • Facilitation of an intensive, one-day strategic planning session with staff and/or Board
  • Note: If necessary, a follow-up strategic planning session may be scheduled
Additional details

As we head into the summer our team will be going strategic planning for the organization and this year we would like to do the same for our own departments. The four departments we would like to focus on our FundDevelopment, Operations/HR, Programs, and Staff Development/ Curriculum. We need further assistance in helping the leads prepare for their strategic session and for facilitating their session/follow-ups.

What we have in place
  • We currently have an initial draft of our strategic planning goals, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have athird party helping for the organization strategic planning, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $4,465 , allowing us to provide our programs to another school for an entire school year with an after-school program.

This would be the first year and set the foundation for us to annually structure independent strategic planning for each of our departments.

Milestone 1: Background Call
  • Professional and Volunteer Manager in charge of the session engage in a 30-minute phone call
  • Goals of the call include answering any preliminary questions the Professional may have and agreeing upon the goals and structure of the Facilitated Planning Session
  • Professional sends any additional due diligence questions ahead of Facilitated Planning Session(s)
  • Professional distributes an outline or itinerary ahead of Facilitated Planning Session(s) (as necessary)

  • Attendees include Professional, Organization Executive(s) and/or Board Member(s) involved in decision or strategic planning
  • If necessary, a follow-up session may be scheduled to address issues that may arise and require additional due diligence

Our mission

The mission of Pure Game is to provide positive mentors who champion the development of a child's self-esteem and confidence, inspiring them to believe in themselves and the possibilities of a better life.

What we do

Pure Game is a unique teaching platform that infuses a cooperative and inclusive style of athletics with a character-building curriculum for underserved youth. The flexible Pure Game system allows youth of all ages and skill levels to play virtually anywhere - parks, gyms, parking lots or even streets, which is particularly important in low income communities that lack recreational space. The beauty of the Pure Game model is that it is based on the most popular and accessible sport in the world, soccer; through this sport we teach kids to be thoughtful, make positive decisions, and to believe in themselves.

Our ultimate goal is to teach vulnerable children in Orange County to learn and grow not just through their successes, but through their failures as well. Learning these skills now helps youth stay on the right path, gain self-confidence, develop leadership skills, and lead healthy lifestyles. Our motto, "Life, played at full potential," reflects the belief that every child deserves a champion that will promote this life-changing message of growth and empowerment.
