Our mission
Art-Reach creates, advocates for and expands accessible opportunities in the arts so the full spectrum of society is served.
What we do
Art-Reach brings arts and culture opportunities to underserved audiences like people with disabilities and low-income communities. Art-Reach works with over 200 human services agencies and 220 arts organization throughout Greater Philadelphia to create accessible experiences in the arts. Last year, over 185,000 people had the chance to engage with the arts because of Art-Reach. Through Art-Reach's unique programs, people of all ages, economic backgrounds, and physical capabilities can enjoy cultural events and benefit from the transformative power of the arts.
We are the only organization in the region solely devoted to increasing cultural participation among all underserved audiences. In addition, Art-Reach serves as a public resource and advocate for cultural accessibility while also helping cultural organizations to increase their outreach to underserved communities, fill empty seats, and diversify audiences.
Art-Reach's core programs include:
(1) Ticketing Program: distributes free or deeply discounted tickets for admission to museums, cultural institutions and arts performances to our network of 205 human service agencies.
(2) Encore Program: Presents curated programs designed for specific audiences and their unique needs. These programs take place both offsite at arts partners' locations and onsite at Member Agencies whose clients are unable to travel. ENCORE programs are immersive, participatory experiences including workshops, studio dance sessions, touch tours, verbal description and sensory friendly performances.
(3) ACCESS Philly: a public initiative that allows anyone who uses a PA EBT Card (Access card) to manage food and medical benefits admission to 35 museums, gardens and historical sites and tickets to 13 performing arts venues for only $2.
(4) Cultural Accessibility Forum & Exchange (CAFE) and Cultural Accessibility Training: provide dialogue series for arts professional to highlight emerging trends in cultural accessibility and provide disability etiquette training and best practices for welcoming the disability community.
