Project details

What we need
  • Audit of the existing systems and processes; the audit is limited to hiring and termination practices, work scheduling, payroll processing, benefits administration, insurance, and compliance with federal and state employment laws
  • Recommendation for process improvements and software providers (if necessary)
  • Implementation of chosen software (if necessary)
  • Training on maintenance tasks
Additional details

We need someone who is familiar with California employment laws, or knows how to ensure we're following them. Also, you won't have to be involved in any software implementation (if any) if the software company has good support.

What we have in place
  • We currently have a number of HR processes documented on paper, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have hiring managers who are accessible, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $6,746 , allowing us to fuel our refrigerated truck for a year!

Improving our HR processes will make it more likely we'll attract and retain the best people, and that means we can get more food to more people in need!

Our mission

ExtraFood.org's mission is to help end hunger and wasted food in Marin County, California, where 1 in 5 people worry about where their next meal will come from.

What we do

Through our county-wide food recovery program, we rescue excess fresh food from any Marin business or school and immediately deliver it to safety net partners -- such as homeless shelters, senior housing centers, and after-school programs -- serving Marin's most vulnerable children, adults, and families. In 5 years we've rescued 2.7 million pounds of food and delivered it to 121 sites across Marin, including 34 new food programs we've started with our partners. We're reaching 8,000+ people every month with healthy, fresh food.
