Project details

What we need
  • Evaluation of current programmatic needs and how a program plan can address them
  • Recommendations for an appropriate course of action to reach the desired objectives, including guidance on how to allocate resources and measure success
  • Plan that outlines the resources and steps required to reach short- and long-term goals
Additional details

Teach us how to move from a big direct service role into more of a consulting role.
We need some direction on other diversified funding streams
How to create a donor list (We do not have many private donors)

What we have in place
  • I currently have the entire business plan in my head (Not on paper), which I know is difficult. With the right person, I could be debriefed and it could make a successful business plan.
How this will help
This project will save us $2,155 , allowing us to spend that money on more staff. We are often short staffed

This is so important because we are growing and succeeding so fast. I want to be able to offer our program to many other school districts (who have asked) so they can improve their wellness plans too. Without a plan, I am not confident to move forward.

Our mission

Sanzuma is dedicated to increasing the availability of freshly grown foods through gardening and urban farming, improving health and reconnecting people with their environment.

We believe a person's health and diet should not be a reflection of their economic status. Through the lens of comprehensive, healthy food systems, we support low-income communities from Mexico & Central America to Marin County, California.

What we do

We help improve the overall wellness at low income schools through a series of programs.
developing a school farm, helping the food service directors improve the school meal programs, negotiating contracts with local farmers, policy work that has to do with improving the local food system, implementing nutrition education into the curricula, increasing Physical Education minutes, and more.

Testimonials

Ames was an outstanding partner. He was reliable, innovative and dedicated to our cause. Ames helped Sanzuma learn how to shift from a nonprofit who does mostly direct service to a nonprofit that now has a consulting arm. I highly recommend working with Ames

Program Strategy & Goals Project

I had an incredible experience working with Sanzuma and Lori, the Executive Director. We reframed Sanzuma's strategy and managed a redesign of the organization's website. Both Lori and I are proud of the outcome, and I look forward to staying involved with Sanzuma in the future!
