What we need
- Setup of selected accounting software (e.g. Aplos, Araize)
- Training and guidelines on how to manage system and generate basic reports

We use QuickBooks Plus. We recently went through an Accounting Systems Review with a Catchafire volunteer who provided us with valuable tips for improving our bookkeeping. We would now love to have help implementing some of those ideas into our system (e.g. shifting to accrual vs. cash accounting, tracking in-kind donations, matching expenses/income to a budget in QB).
What we have in place
- We currently have a relatively small budget/number of transactions, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have meticulous income/expense records, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $5,409 , allowing us to provide 270 more hours of non-medical in-home support to community members living with chronic illness
Our organization is rapidly growing and we currently have a number of new and exciting grant opportunities. As we grow, we need to be sure that the professionalism of our bookkeeping practices is growing at the same pace so that we can provide accurate, timely financial reports to potential and current funders.

Our mission
Lori's Hands builds mutually beneficial partnerships between community members with chronic illness and college students, fostering empathy, connection, and resilience. Students provide practical assistance to support community members' independence at home, and community members share their health and life experiences to support students' learning.
