Application for urgent assistance with the Baphumelele Fountain of Hope project helping young people rebuild their lives: building of a residential facility,
All the Baphumelele projects positively impact many lives daily, especially the young orphaned and vulnerable children living in the Children's Homes. But a sad truth remains that once these children reach the age of 18 they have to move out. With no family or support base, these children return to the streets to be homeless.
What we have in place
- We currently have a safe 18 bed facility for youth to be empowered, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have hosted over 135 young people from all walks of life., and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $2,140 , allowing us to buy computers for basic lessons, career guidance, interview training, tuition in core subjects and educational support. Counselling and psychological support will also be available.
By providing these young people with a safe space to transition to adulthood is vital,The communities served by Baphumelele are slowly developing in terms of the services provided to certain members of the community in need including young children, those suffering from HIV/AIDS. However services for youth remain seriously lacking. Even in its first year as a pilot project, Baphumelele Fountain of Hope hosted over 135 young people from all walks of life, helping them on the road to a more stable

Vision
The organisation's vision is to provide a temporary shelter and care for vulnerable/orphaned children, youth and adults with chronic diseases/HIV & Aids, provide skills development for the unemployed, provide early childhood care, alleviate poverty and provide healthcare information to Khayelitsha community and the surroundings, so that the lives of everyone we touch can become more productive and accepted individuals who make a difference within society.
