What we'd like to talk about

I'd like to brainstorm ideas for engage and retain high-level remote volunteers during this COVID-19 transition.

"Phone calls" are 1 hour, one-time calls with an organization. Learn the difference between volunteering on a Phone call and a Project here.

Our mission

AeroStar's mission is to enhance, promote and support the academic awareness of aviation and aeronautical career path opportunities for students, particularly female, minority, underprivileged and at-risk youth. By providing aviation academic curriculum development, programs, activities and support services for youth Grades K-12, interested in Science, Technology, Engineering & Math, AeroStar has paved the way for the future of our industry. Due to the need to build capacity for a sustainable aviation talent pipeline through strategic partnerships, sponsors, donors and grants, The AeroStar Avion Institute Non Profit was formed.

What we do

The AeroStar Avion Institute delivers programs that teach skills necessary to not just participate, but LEAD in the next generation of STEM innovation. Students are immersed in inquiry-based learning, engineering design projects, they operate flight simulators, remote controlled helicopters, drones, RC airplanes and VR headsets. They also build model airplanes and rockets to specifications. They study and demonstrate extensive knowledge on flight theory, aviation weather, aircraft radio operation, aircraft cockpit instrumentation and STEM careers. We soar above other programs because we provide years of ongoing support to students interested in pursuing pathways in Aviation/STEM.

Testimonials

(No testimonial has been submitted by Kim)
It was such a pleasure to get to know Kim and Frank, as well as learn about the AeroStar organization. They are promoting STEM in unique ways, and it was very rewarding to have the opportunity to participate to help improve how the organization serves these kids and the community at large. Kim and Frank are passionate about the mission of AeroStar, and that came through when my initial one hour call with Kim morphed into a plan to meet weekly on a project to develop a remote work strategy. During those weekly planning meetings, we worked together to create a specific, actionable plan for the seamless transition to working remotely, as well as identified other process improvement opportunities which could potentially help AeroStar operate more effectively. I'm thankful to Kim and AeroStar for letting me be a small part of their continued success.
