Employee Handbook
Employee Handbook
Project details
What we need
- Audit of existing Employee Handbook, or internal communications regarding employment policies
- Edit or creation of a new Employee Handbook, which may include any of the following: Standards of Conduct, Work Schedules, Leave Policies, Termination Policies, Safety and Security, Anti-Discrimination policies, Compensation and Benefits policies, any Non-Disclosure Agreements or Conflict of Interest statements that may apply, and any other pertinent information
What we have in place
- When we hired Public Allies to work for the organization in 2018, we created non-discrimination policies and common workplace procedures for Allies to abide by. However, we seek to hire part-time and full-time staff members in 2021 so we want to get ready with a professional employee handbook that our employees can go to.
How this will help
This project will save us $3,380 , allowing us to hire a part-time staff member or intern to assist with facilitating our after-school program.
Working with youth, we need dedicated staff members being mentors, and effectively engaging in programs so our youth can succeed. We want to take the mystery out of how the organization supports its employees, and acknowledge that we value their commitment to the youth. We know working with youth has its restrictions, so we want to properly prepare our employees.

Our mission
At Bat is striving to increase the number of at-risk youth who participate in baseball and softball by providing free clinics and low-cost programs.
What we do
Baseball and Softball Clinics: Introduce youth ages 6 to 13 to the fundamentals of baseball and softball. Youth engage in pitching, catching, and hitting drills.
After-School Program: During the school year, Kindergarten to 8th grade students learn baseball and nutrition fundamentals, build self-esteem, and apply academic concepts to real-life examples through structured activities.
Baseball and Softball Camp: During the summer, youth ages 6 to 13 engage in baseball and softball drills. We partner with local community organizations where there is a limited amount of or no sporting organizations available within the community. We take pride in giving youth who never had the opportunity to learn baseball and softball a chance.
Testimonials
I really enjoyed working with Kelsen. She takes pride in her volunteer role and her work ethic is phenomenal. Kelsen clearly communicated the process before we started, granting me the choice of how I wanted the project to be executed. And above all, Kelsen has so much compassion. I greatly appreciate all her hard work and the time she spent on this project. It truly was an honor to work with Kelsen!
I absolutely loved working with Delrisha on the At Bat handbook. She was extremely professional, and it was enriching to work through drafts together to make a solid final project. I especially enjoyed our morning meetings where we were able to discuss concepts and goals for her organization. I would HIGHLY recommend working with this organization to anyone.
