Project details

What we need
  • An edited 1-3 minute video delivered in electronic format as agreed upon between the Professional and Organization, with HD quality as a master version, along with any agreed upon formats for final usage
Additional details

We have been using Zoom to record our educational programs, general meetings and study group meetings for posting on YouTube to reach our members and others during this time of Covid and we plan to do do into the future. I have been editing them using a free downloadable package (Open Shot) and am going up the learning curve. We need advice on which software package to purchase help editing them and advice on livestreaming/hybrid meetings once we can start meeting in person, if only partially.

What we have in place
  • We currently have a Sony handicam on a tripod with an unsatisfactory shotgun hot shoe mounted microphone, insufficient lighting, a usb/hdmi capture device to use for livestreaming/Zoom and an older Dell laptop. We need advice on a reasonable video editing software package, other software for livestreaming (apart from Zoom). We need some guidance on better video editing and a lot on livestreaming. We are using OpenShot right now for editing.
How this will help
This project will save us $5,422 , allowing us to create and post high-quality educational videos on our YouTube channel, host livestreaming educational programs, demonstrations and studio visits that we can preserve for future and make available.

This project will allow us to reach more members and the public and grow outreach to schools and the community (we used to do programs at museums, schools, public events). We have to find creative ways to continue to do this during Covid and continue it after so that as one of the oldest arts guilds in Tucson, we have a presence on the internet through a rich library of educational videos as well as livestreaming events, such as the Pima County Fair and museum presentations.
