Board Assessment
Board Assessment
Project details
What we need
- 1-2 page summary of takeaways and trends from interviewing key individuals (no more than 8 interviews total)
- Identification of the board’s strengths and recommendations for areas of improvement for board members collectively and individually
Additional details
MCAEL has not had a formal process by which to assess the board in a variety of areas. Our current concerns are:
* Receiving several options for board assessment processes
Reviewing those with the help of a consultant to best match with our organization
* Assessing board recruitment, membership, training, and self-governance
* How to structure an assessment to be replicable annually, with timelines
*
What we have in place
- We currently have Executive Director & Board who are committed to this project, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have Information about current board structure and processes, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $8,773 , allowing us to include more people, diversify voices and representation, and have a clear, sustainable board assessment to use year to year.
MCAEL is committed to driving a system of continuous improvement. Identifying our strengths and weaknesses is integral to that process. This project will help the organization navigate the changing industry landscape during a global pandemic, more accurately representing the voices of the populations we serve, and designing and implementing a board assessment process that can be replicated year-to-year.
