Project details
What we need
- A high-resolution digital version of an illustration that can be used across multiple channels (web, print, and/or merchandising)
Additional details
We are hosting an arctic winter college and would like an illustrator to help us create visual illustrated notes of two presenters on Arctic ecosystem changes in a warming Arctic, specifically on fires and Arctic greening. We will have a recording of the two presentations, which will take place on January 26. We can have one big board of visual notes, or two separate ones! Help us bring these important talks to a wider audience!
What we have in place
- We currently have an inspiration board of other visual notes, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have the recordings of the talks (or a Zoom link to join!), and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $4,212 , allowing us to run a free Arctic Winter College for 65 participants from around the world.
The Arctic is an important region that more people need to spend time learning and understanding. Helping us create illustrations will bring these lessons to a public audience!
Project plan
Our mission
TAI envisions a world in which the Arctic’s diverse and complex sources of insecurity are identified, understood, and innovatively resolved. We hope to achieve this by informing Arctic policy across the circumpolar region through objective, multidisciplinary, and innovative social science research. We do this through publishing high-quality, open access research on a range of issues relating to security in the High North; providing innovative policy analysis and recommendations to policymakers a
What we do
The Arctic Institute is an independent international institute dedicated to research of and engagement in the many dimensions of Arctic insecurity. Established in 2011, TAI provides data, analysis, and recommendations to policymakers, researchers, media, and the interested public. Based in Washington, DC, TAI’s network of research associates extends across North America, Scandinavia, and the European Union.
Testimonials
Marie was a wonderful illustrator that I cannot recommend highly enough! Marie was incredibly insightful and a professional designer. She listened intently to our ideas and vision and was able to effectively bring a complex research topic to life in an accessible way through a visual note. We would not have been able to reach a worldwide pubic audience and engage them in Arctic science on fires and Arctic greening without Marie!
It was a pleasure to work with Victoria Hermann at The Arctic Institute. The organization does very valuable and interesting work on climate change. I learned a lot from their experts' video presentations and enjoyed creating illustrations based on their research. Victoria was easy to work with, responded with feedback in a timely fashion, and was always positive and appreciative of my work.
