Project Details

What We Need
  • Well-written and compelling copy for marketing or communication materials; examples include a brochure, blog post, one-pager/fact sheet, fundraising/promotional materials
  • Messaging that is consistent with brand identity, public relations strategy and communications objectives
Additional Details

We're looking for fundraising/promotional materials for our upcoming Artist Lookbook (lauching 2/22) and our Shop to raise funds. We want to raise more brand-awareness in preparation of our Board expansion in March.

What We Have In Place
  • We currently have Brand Assets, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have past graphics and templates, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How This Will Help
This project will save us $4,212 , allowing us to focus on board expansion and project completion to raise funds for programming.

We are launching our Artist Lookbook to archive our story - our members (their artwork and stories) and our 2021 community impact as organization. This launch is in tandem with our Board Expansion and overall fundraising efforts (lookbook will be a gift for donations, not for sale).

Project Plan

Prep: Distribution of Prep Materials
  • Volunteer Manager provides examples of existing communications and marketing materials such as links to website and social media, brochures, and other collateral
  • Volunteer Manager provides brand messaging guide and marketing strategy (if applicable)
  • Volunteer Manager communicates initial concept for deliverables to be created
Milestone 1: Information Gathering
  • Volunteer Manager and Professional connect to discuss goals of copywriting deliverables, target audience, and desired style and tone of writing
Milestone 2: First Draft
  • Professional shares first drafts of copy with Volunteer Manager for feedback with respect to style, tone, clarity, and length
Milestone 3: Finalize Copy
  • Professional incorporates feedback and submits final copy for review

About The Org

Black Girls Who Paint Inc.
Our Mission

BLACK GIRLS WHO PAINT (BGWP) is an ecosystem with 2 goals in mind - (1) to show actual Black girls who paint that the arts is a viable career path and (2) to normalize Black women in the arts as a whole. In accomplishing both, a community of successful Black women artists has formed - one that Founder Sasha-Loriene always wanted to see as a young girl. BGWP is also a platform created by a Black woman who paints and believes in increasing the visibility and investment of Black women artists through sharing our art and our stories.

Michelle was a pleasure to work while prepping for this vital fundraising campaign. She helped us get our messaging across in a clear and concise way for more targeting marketing allowing us to raise funds in the pre-launch stage and focus on the finalizing our marketing material and products at the same time. Super appreciative!

Copywriting Project

Sasha-Loriene was such a pleasure to work with. The material she provided was clear and in depth which helped me to truly capture the organization's message and create the marketing copy they were seacrhing for.
