What we need
- Significant update to Organization’s existing CMS website, such as adding a new page, customizing a theme, adjusting layout, etc.
- Smaller update to Organization's non-CMS website
Additional details
We are moving to WordPress. The core installation is done. This project will include one or more of the following:
- Configuring plugins
- Creating custom CSS/HTML/JS
We may work with multiple volunteers on these tasks.
What we have in place
- We currently have A development installation of WordPress, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have installed most or all plugins and features desired, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $4,586 , allowing us to deliver a more powerful web presence, despite our lack of funds.
This project will create a bridge between the general public and the teenagers we want to empower. It will enable the BOOM to highlight our multidimensional curriculum, and help us tell our inspiring story to the world! Later, we will add to the site profiles and communication tools for all of our students.

Our mission
The BOOM is an economic and social empowerment initiative for teens struggling with violence, dangerous drugs, and economic hardship. We're on a mission to propel teens in-crisis into prosperous futures as inventors, engineers, and entrepreneurs. Our goal is to make entrepreneurship more inclusive. We emphasize women and people of color.
We mentor youths in the assembly and marketing of an electronic product: boomboxes. This sparks enthusiasm and establishes foundational skills. We're developing low-cost methods to enable small-scale production. Ultimately we'll guide our apprentices to prototype their own products. When you build something powerful and beautiful, you feel powerful and beautiful.
