Project details

What we need
  • Audit of existing Employee Handbook, or internal communications regarding employment policies
  • Edit or creation of a new Employee Handbook, which may include any of the following: Standards of Conduct, Work Schedules, Leave Policies, Termination Policies, Safety and Security, Anti-Discrimination policies, Compensation and Benefits policies, any Non-Disclosure Agreements or Conflict of Interest statements that may apply, and any other pertinent information
What we have in place
  • We currently have edits and contributions from our board on revisions, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a handbook in place, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $2,430 , allowing us to provide over 100 families with a crib and safe-sleep education to prevent SIDS.

We are a small but mighty nonprofit serving mothers and babies across all islands in Hawaii with programs and services. Our staff continues to grow, and we support a burgeoning public health internship program, but we need to make sure our (outdated) handbook is brought up-to-date and is fully compliant with all applicable labor laws. We would like to find someone with a background/expertise in human resources laws to help make sure we are addressing all of our employment needs.

Our mission

We are a local nonprofit agency that is committed to improving Hawaii's maternal, child and family health through collaborative efforts in public education, advocacy and partner development.

What we do

Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies Coalition of Hawaii is committed to ensuring women and families receive access to resources and information before, during and after pregnancy. We provide programs, direct resources, and access to services that help Hawaii's women achieve a healthy, safe pregnancy and nurture a healthy baby.

Annually, we reach over 10,000 women and families through our MothersCare phone line, our online resource directory, our Text4Baby health text messaging service and our direct services. We also serve families through our Piko Pals 12-week new parent support program, our Cribs for Kids program for high-risk families, and our maternal counseling services.

We have been operating statewide in Hawaii for over 25 years and have strong partnerships throughout the public and private sectors.
