Board Recruitment Strategy
Board Recruitment Strategy
Project details
What we need
- Assessment of specific Organizational needs mapped to specific board roles
- Outline of ideal board structure and opportunities for new roles
- Candidate evaluation guide for prospective board members
- Marketing tools and guidance on how to execute recruitment
- Note: This project does not include actual board recruitment on the part of the Professional
Additional details
We are in the process of building a 3,000 square foot building on our 4.2 acre property to expand our direct service space. We need individuals on our board with:
-- Construction and development expertise
--- Engineering Expertise
--- Legal and/or Planning Commission expertise
--Construction Finance expertise
In addition, our low-income, minority area is being rapidly gentrified. We would like to secure at least two board members who can help us protect our land ownership and sustained delivery of services to the poor in a "NIMBY" area. We need well-connected, professional, productive board members.
What we have in place
- We currently have a Strategic Plan and bylaws describing board roles, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have descriptions of our programs, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $11,395 , allowing us to hire a part-time job developer finding jobs for 40 to 50 low-income people transitioning from generational poverty to gainful employment.
This project will help our agency transition into an agency that is run more professionally using corporate processes, performance and accountability standards that will lead to our designation as a "top tier" non-profit agency producing consistently stellar results with professional management systems, board members and staff. The agency is 40 years old and has not yet fully adapted to the rigors of non-profit sustainability in the 21st century. To facilitate this transition, we have secured our 3-year national CARF (Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) Accreditation for Employment Services that positions us for federal funding and/or fee-based contracts.
