Our organization has worked with a software development firm to create a new app for digital canvassing for issue-based organizations that use door-to-door organizing for membership development and grassroots advocacy. There is a small universe of other organizations that are interested in adopting this app. We want ideas on how to structure relationships with other groups to further develop and maintain the app over time. This will enhance the power of all these organizations over time.
What we have in place
- We currently have an app developed and grant proposals making the case for it, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a few months of data from our use of the app by TCE organizers, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $15,028 , allowing us to market our digital canvassing app to other organizations like ours and build the power of other grassroots environmental, consumer and women's rights organizations across the country.
We are collecting good quality data - names, addresses, emails, phone numbers, permission to send text messages - on three times the number of people than we did with pen, paper and clipboards. We are getting many more people to swipe a credit card. With an infusion of more investment we can upgrade the app to greatly increase the number of people who will give on a monthly or quarterly basis. We can also re-work the app to upload information on previous contributions made and advocacy actions taken by past supporters which will enable our organizers to personalize their messages.

Our mission
Texas Campaign for the Environment Fund's mission is to engage people and communities through face-to-face public education, grassroots organizing and action-oriented research for a cleaner and healthier Texas.
What we do
We works towards a Texas free from pollution. Recently, our focus has been on waste and recycling issues. We have championed Zero Waste policies and programs, assisted neighbors of problem waste facilities and provided strategic planning and organizing assistance to people in communities with proposed or existing polluting facilities. We are also working on Superfund toxic waste sites to promote clean up efforts to protect public health.
