Project details

What we need
  • Thorough review of the existing communication and marketing materials to ensure writing is understandable, engaging and consistent
  • Edits conducted with respect to writing style, voice, length, and proper spelling and grammar
  • Revised materials should adhere to branding, communications and marketing goals
What we have in place
  • We currently have existing information materials, brochure, and website, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have samples of appeal letters and emails to providers/end users, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $3,002 , allowing us to send 150 "hug" boxes to children with cancer or assist 6 families with financial hardships due to their child's diagnosis.

Having the ability to clearly communicate, will make our supporters feel connected to our mission and the families we assist. Ultimately, it will foster a stronger relationship and the desire to continue to assist us in fulfilling our goals.
In addition, we need to effectively communicate to the hospitals, social workers and families we support.
In short, the more people we reach, the more families we can help.

Our mission

Julia's Grace Foundation brings moments of happiness and support to children with cancer and their families.

From giving special moments for a family to share, to providing items to make the long days in the clinic feel shorter, Julia's Grace helps children with cancer and their families smile with our special "hugs".

Julia's Grace Foundation also grants monetary assistance, or graces, to families experiencing financial hardship due to the direct result of a child's cancer treatment and care.

Julia's Grace brings "happiness, hope, & hugs" to families affected by childhood cancer.

What we do

"Do you ever get sad and blue?" - a simple question asked by an 8-year-old child of her mother. The conversation continued, "I have a list of things to do to make you happy".

With that, Julia recited her list - think of puppies, watch a funny movie, give someone a hug; a list of ten things that simply make you smile.

A few days after giving us her list, Julia died from a Wilm's tumor, a type of childhood kidney cancer. Julia's amazing insight was a parting gift to all of us. This list has been our guide - not only giving us comfort and hope, but also providing a way to bring happiness to other children and families affected by cancer.

Julia was diagnosed with a Wilm's tumor shortly after her fifth birthday in 2009. From the moment she saw the other children in the hospital she looked for ways to help them. From raising money and donating her gifts to the other children, Julia worked to bring happiness and support to so many.

Soon after Julia passed, her parents Janet and John formed Julia's Grace Foundation to continue Julia's work of bringing happiness to children with cancer and to their families.

Our Hug program delivers boxes based on Julia's list to children with cancer. Packages are themed and based on Julia's List, for example there is a "watch a funny movie" box. This "hug" box includes gift certificates to Redbox, popcorn, and candy. Families can also make special requests for personalized hug boxes. Our hugs are shipped throughout the country.

Our Grace program grants assistance to families experiencing financial difficulties as a direct result of a child's cancer treatment or care. Financial assistance is in the form of payment of non-medical bills. This program is focused in the SE Pennsylvania area.
