Market Analysis
Market Analysis
Project details
What we need
- A written analysis of the Organization's position in the community it serves and its ability to address identified needs/problems for its beneficiaries
- A summary of the Organization's strengths and weaknesses, related to its program goals as needed
- A summary of competitors or potential collaborators
- An appendix of all data gathered to perform analysis, including sources
Additional details
We will use the results of the analysis to tie into the strategic planning work we are conducting later this fall.
We are available to work on this project starting June 14.
What we have in place
- We have access to data that our education team has been collecting after each one of their programs from several years.
Good relationships with several of our partners that will make it easier to collect feedback on the impact of our programs.
How this will help
This project will save us $10,948 , allowing us to further invest in our mission which includes providing programs to schools, care of 7 acres of greenspace, and diverse and enriching community classes and events.
If you ask our staff why our work is important, they can give you qualitative feedback, but what about the greater community? How do we prove the "so what?" How do we prove that Atlanta is a better place because we exist? We are working on a strategic plan and know that this feedback will guide the direction we take. It will also prove very useful when we are talking to foundations and donors.
Project plan
Our mission
We are a membership based non-profit that has been an integral part of the community for over 20 years. We educate children at our gardens and in schools. We cultivate 5 greenspaces in Decatur and Atlanta; and we build community at our gardens through our year round programs and events.
What we do
Our special mix of hands-on environmental education, community programming and organic gardens inspires greener, healthier, more connected communities in metro Atlanta.
Environmental Education
* We bring the wonders and science of nature to 16,000 schoolchildren a year to create a more inclusive, better quality of life for us all.
* We lead by example, offering classes and expert coaching to show our neighbors how to preserve and protect our natural environment.
Community Programming
* We bring locally-grown food into schools and underserved communities to teach everyone about healthy eating.
* We bring neighbors together through our educational children's camps and community events that range from beer gardens and campfires to ice cream socials and concerts.
Gardens
* We maintain five different gardens - two in Atlanta and three in the Decatur area - as a year-round resource for local communities.
* We offer seven acres of magical places filled with Hobbit Houses, fairy gardens and wildlife for you to explore and connect with nature and neighbors.
Testimonials
Nancy was the perfect person for this project. She was very professional in how she approached the project and generously incorporated our suggestions and further requests for additional analysis. She even reviewed and compiled the data from a survey that had 133 responses. We are already incorporating her work into our strategic plan.
I enjoyed working with Stephanie on the market analysis. Her knowledge and insight about the local greenspace was very helpful for the project.
