Project details

What we need
  • A concise, well-articulated letter (not exceeding two pages) to request funds from individual donors
Additional details

Our website is www.streetsamaritans.org. Our organization is in its 2nd year and we need to build an individual donor base to grow.
Street Samaritans is a Chicago-based, 501(c)3 nonprofit grassroots organization that strives to provide human connection and support the Homeless brothers and sisters in our community. Our mission is to alleviate the living conditions for those without shelter and means to thrive and provide them with necessary essentials and pathways to live better lives.

What we have in place
  • We currently have a fundraising plan, brochure, and comprehensive website, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have our 2019 program descriptions, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $1,390 , allowing us to create 85 care packages ($25/package), partially fund the purchase of a mobile unit, invest dollars towards providing medical treatment, documentation assistance, housing assistance, etc.

In order to continue to build more sophisticated programs to serve the homeless population of Chicago, we need to build our funding base. All of our monthly outreach drives require funds to purchase resources. We would like to purchase a mobile unit to further our reach in sharing resources, we would like to invest in technology, and we would like to invest in research and data analytics to spread homelessness awareness as well. We are 100% volunteer run so all proceeds go towards our programs.

Our mission

Street Samaritans is a 501(c)3 grassroots organization dedicated to alleviating the suffering of our homeless brothers and sisters in the Chicagoland area and serving them through: direct giving of living essentials and clothing, establishment of events and materials to educate the public on the realities and statistics of homelessness, connection with services and supports that enable access to education, housing, medical care, etc, and fellowship with the community and our volunteers to make genuine connections with and learn more about the homeless we encounter.

Testimonials

Joel was an absolute pleasure to work with. He is a skilled nonprofit professional with a wealth of knowledge and expertise that would be valuable to any organization. He is proactive, works at an incredible pace, and delivered exactly what we needed in an unbelievably quick timeframe! Before I had even responded to his inquiry, he drafted a document for my review and feedback, which was much appreciated given the tight schedule I have in our 100% volunteer run organization. I would highly recommend him to any organization and will definitely look to him for future projects.
