This project will save us $4,465 , allowing us to strategically discuss our current operational model and allow us to cover moving labor expenses for approximately (10) donation pick ups with a total estimated fair market in-kind value of $15,000.

Additional Details

Our mission is a practical, evidence based, purpose driven model and productively effects positive change towards ending homelessness. We are seeking to merge with a larger organization that has stronger infrastructure and the capabilities to implement this work nationwide. Currently, we have limited resources to sustain this work and there are overarching concerns for determining our future, in a highly competitive non-profit sector. Clearly, demonstrated success, yet, must transition .

How This Will Help

Strategic planning discussions will allow our organization to evaluate our options for moving forward. We see stronger possibilities for this mission to have a greater impact with a merger yet need help to identify next steps. Previously, a consulting team provided valuable help for building our current structure, yet, we believe the mission can accomplish far more if assumed by a national organization/association. The founder has served the organization for the past 15years plus.

Milestone 1: Background call
  • Professional and Volunteer Manager in charge of the session engage in a 30-minute phone call
  • Goals of the call include answering any preliminary questions the Professional may have and agreeing upon the goals and structure of the Facilitated Planning Session
  • Professional sends any additional due diligence questions ahead of Facilitated Planning Session(s)
  • Professional distributes an outline or itinerary ahead of Facilitated Planning Session(s) (as necessary)

  • Attendees include Professional, Organization Executive(s) and/or Board Member(s) involved in decision or strategic planning
  • If necessary, a follow-up session may be scheduled to address issues that may arise and require additional due diligence

Our Mission

KEYS for the Homeless procures no longer needed, new or gently-used, in-kind goods primarily from the hospitality industry other concerned businesses and provides these resources at no cost, to meet the basic needs of those living in poverty. We support the program goals of more than 60 non-profits with needed supplies in the Greater Washington, DC region.
