What We Need
  • Audit of existing Employee Handbook, or internal communications regarding employment policies
  • Edit or creation of a new Employee Handbook, which may include any of the following: Standards of Conduct, Work Schedules, Leave Policies, Termination Policies, Safety and Security, Anti-Discrimination policies, Compensation and Benefits policies, any Non-Disclosure Agreements or Conflict of Interest statements that may apply, and any other pertinent information
What We Have In Place
  • We currently have our own Employee Handbook, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have records of all previous and current HR related files, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How This Will Help
This project will save us $2,430 , allowing us to to allot our funds to better serve OCCUR's mission to serve Oakland's low-income community.

This project is essential because as a non-profit with limited funding, having a HR person onsite is not always in the budget. In addition to being a nonprofit, if there is an audit violation there a can be fees associated.

What We Do

The Oakland Citizens Committee for Urban Renewal (OCCUR) is a non-profit founded in 1954 in Oakland, California. OCCUR's founding members' objective for this organization was to confront the issues relating to emerging poverty, urban blight and increased migration by populations of color. 60 years later, OCCUR now serves as a role as an intermediary and public service policy organization, OCCUR provides critical services and programs in community technology, nonprofit capacity building, consumer education and civic engagement.
