What we need
- Visual branding guidelines/style guide in .pdf and/or print format that includes specific colors, primary and secondary typefaces, minimum size and buffer space for logo, examples of incorrect logo usage, and any other graphic design elements, to guide use in print and digital communications materials
Additional details
A visual identity standards manual or brand book that governs the use of the CIEL identity. The finished product should include explicit guidelines or templates for colors, fonts, logo placement; print collateral templates such as business cards, stationary, one-pagers, reports, briefing papers, and toolkits; digital collateral templates such as PowerPoint slides, advocacy and fundraising emails, social media graphics, and other products that might come up through the process.
What we have in place
- We currently have logos, a color palette, and a few templates, though they lack a consistent visual identity.
How this will help
This project will save us $4,212 , allowing us to provide greater investment in professional development opportunities for staff.
Throughout 2021, CIEL is working in an intentional and strategic process to strengthen its brand and ensure brand uniformity across the organization. We want to speak as one voice, across multiple continents and programs.

Since 1989, the Center for International Environmental Law (CIEL) has used the power of law to protect the environment, promote human rights, and ensure a just and sustainable society. CIEL seeks a world where the law reflects the interconnection between humans and the environment, respects the limits of the planet, protects the dignity and equality of each person, and encourages all of earth's inhabitants to live in balance with each other.
What we do
CIEL pursues its mission through legal research and advocacy, education and training, with a focus on connecting global challenges to the experiences of communities on the ground. In the process, we build and maintain lasting partnerships with communities and non-profit organizations around the world.
